WordPress MU - официальная ветка WordPress, позволяющая обслуживать одновременно тысячи блогов. На базе этого ПО работает WordPress.com. MU разрабатывался около года, и наконец-то мы его опубликовали “на видном месте”. Хотя процесс установка MU более сложный чем “5-минутный” для WordPress, MU больше всего подходит занимающейся серверами аудитории.

Во-вторых охота представить давнего друга, с которым вы вероятно уже знакомы по форуму поддержки WP, - bbPress. bbPress - ПО для форума, разрабатываемое теми же людьми что и wordpress. В наличии такие вещи как tagging, RSS feeds, защита от спама с помощью Akismet, интеграция с AJAX, но основная цель работы команды - создать нечто быстрое и лёгкое. bbPress в состоянии обеспечивать работу форума с сотней тысяч сообщений, причём нагрузка на сервер будет составлять лишь долю аналогичной нагрузки на WP. (Если бы мы надумали переписать “с нуля” WP, получилось бы что-то вроде bbPress.) Вероятно, одна из приятных возможностей для уже существующих пользователей WordPress - это полная поддержка пользователей и авторизации в bbPress через базу пользователей WordPress.
